Shri Krishna – The Eternal Guide of Love, Dharma and Liberation

Krishna.

A personality so charismatic, so profound, and yet so beautifully human that from his arrival to his departure from this earthly realm, almost every aspect of his life continues to be remembered and revered.

Though Shri Krishna walked upon this earth thousands of years ago, his presence has never truly faded. His name still awakens the purest emotion of bhakti in our hearts. His flute still symbolizes the call of the Divine, his wisdom continues to illuminate our dilemmas, and his life remains an extraordinary expression of love, courage, joy, and dharma.

Krishna – An Expression of Love
Shri Krishna taught us the true meaning of love simply by being himself.

Love can take countless forms, and Krishna embraced them all effortlessly. As a child, he embodied innocence and joy. As a son, he expressed affection and belonging. As a friend, he demonstrated loyalty and companionship. As a beloved, he revealed the depth of devotion. As a guide, he stood beside those who needed courage and clarity.

Through his relationships, Krishna showed us that love need not always possess or demand. At its highest expression, love can simply flow, support, uplift, and liberate.

Krishna – The Teacher of Dharma
On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, when Arjuna stood overwhelmed by confusion, attachment, and grief, Krishna did not simply tell him what to do. He transformed Arjuna’s understanding of life itself.

Through the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna revealed the deeper meaning of dharma—to understand one’s responsibility, prepare oneself for it, act with sincerity and courage, and gradually learn to release attachment to the fruits of action.

The battlefield therefore becomes more than a historical setting. It becomes a powerful metaphor for our own lives.

We too encounter moments when emotions cloud our judgement, relationships complicate our decisions, and fear makes us question our path. It is in such moments that Krishna’s wisdom becomes deeply relevant.

The Bhagavad Gita – Wisdom for Everyone
One may come from any background, region, age, gender, profession, or way of life—the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita has something to offer everyone.

It teaches us how to act without being consumed by outcomes, how to remain steady amidst success and failure, how to understand the workings of the mind, and how to discover a deeper dimension of our own existence.

Perhaps that is why the Gita continues to speak to humanity across generations. The circumstances of life may change, but the fundamental struggles of the human mind remain remarkably similar.

What Krishna Means to Me as a Yoga Teacher
As a Yoga teacher, my understanding of Shri Krishna goes far beyond philosophy.

Krishna teaches me not only how to perform my duties, but also how to care for the body and mind that enable me to fulfil those duties.

He teaches me equanimity—to remain centred amidst the inevitable fluctuations of life.

He teaches me to recognize divinity in everything around me and to see life itself as an expression of something greater than the individual self.

And whenever even a little ego begins to arise, Krishna reminds me of surrender-to offer it back to the Supreme and return to that beautiful space of humility, devotion, and unconditional love.

Perhaps this is where Yoga and Bhakti meet.

  • We perform our actions sincerely.
  • We discipline the mind.
  • We cultivate awareness.
  • We love wholeheartedly.

And ultimately, we surrender.

The Eternal Krishna
For me, Krishna is not merely a personality belonging to a distant age.

Krishna is a guiding force.

A reminder to love without fear, act without attachment, live according to dharma, remain steady amidst life’s dualities, and recognize the Divine within and around us.

Thousands of years may pass, civilizations may change, and humanity may encounter new challenges—but the wisdom represented by Krishna remains timeless.

May that wisdom continue to guide us.
May that love continue to soften our hearts.
May that consciousness uplift and ultimately liberate humanity.

Blessed Shri Krishna Janmashtami to all.
