Many times, due to lack of understanding, people confine Yoga to merely practicing āsanas or meditation.
But in reality, Yoga is a lifestyle-enhancing process, where the key aspect is awareness.
This awareness gradually blossoms into mindfulness in every activity.
With the proper use of intelligence, a person develops a sense of detachment, not only from the fruits of action but also from the method and the instruments involved in action.
However, this detachment does not give rise to a casual or careless approach.
A true Yogi, even while detached, performs their duties with utmost focus, dedication, and sincerity.
They do not act passively, nor with the thought that “everything is pre-determined.”
Instead, Yogis use their skills at all levels, give their best in every task, and once the action is completed, they surrender everything to the Divine.
That is the essence of the Bhagavad Gītā’s teaching:
योगः कर्मसु कौशलम् ।
Yogaḥ karmasu kauśhalam
“Yoga is excellence in action.”
